Academic discovery in the framework of faith

WELCOME

Welcome to Richard Winn Academy. We believe that our educational institution is a unique place. The faculty and staff are committed to academic excellence. We are dedicated to preparing today’s youth for challenges of tomorrow. Our desire is to provide a rigorous, challenging curriculum in a safe environment.

Our teachers love their subjects, enjoy teaching their students, and expect them to do a great deal of work in order to excel. Our students have been accepted by the colleges of their choice, our graduates have attended a variety of post-graduate programs, and many alumni send their children to RWA to gain the educational experiences that they had.

Our children are our future, and they face an especially difficult tomorrow. The children of RWA will read more, write more, study harder, and accept those challenges to lead us into the future. Along with our rigorous academic program we are a family. We put others first. We support each other. We have academic integrity. We demonstrate personal integrity in our actions and words. We accept responsibility for our actions and our words.

RWA is accredited by the South Carolina Independent Schools Association and holds the “Advanced” status.

Richard Winn Academy seeks students of all races, religious, nationalities, and economic backgrounds, and it is committed to nondiscrimination in its admission policies, educational policies, and in athletics and other programs. Our athletic program instills values of leadership, good judgment, maturity, sportsmanship, self image and school spirit.

RWA is dedicated to establishing the love and joy of learning in each individual student. Through small classes, partnerships and cooperative efforts of the board, administration, faculty, student body, home and community our students have the opportunity to grow intellectually, physically, socially, and spiritually. They are able to develop a set of values which will equip him/her to make value judgments in your child’s own life.

RWA is founded on Christian principals. We believe worship and character education go hand-in-hand with intellectual and social development. Our thirty minute weekly chapel service provides an opportunity to inspire students to think how they can lead lives of purpose, faith and integrity.

RWA school spirit is a seen element in our everyday atmosphere. It is the unseen tone that is set by all faculty, staff, administration and board members. Our morale- building slogan “We Are Richard Winn” reminds us to take pride in all that we do. It reminds us to do for others. It motivates our students to work harder towards their goals, to do their very best in their academics and be proud of who they are.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, faculty and staff welcome to Richard Winn. We feel privileged to be a part of this school family. We thank you for your support and look forward to working with you as partners in your child’s education.
